Marriage License Fee: $28.00
The Municipal Clerk's office recommends that any couple contemplating marriage should contact the Registrar's office at (201) 666-8512 at least 2 weeks prior for further information and an appointment. Please note there is a required waiting period from the time an application is submitted to the time it is issued.
Where to Apply for a Marriage License:
* Marriage licenses are only valid in the State of New Jersey.
* If the bride lives in the Twp. of Washington and is being married in New Jersey, the couple must apply in the Twp. of Washington.
* If the bride and groom live out of New Jersey but the marriage is taking place in the Twp. of Washington, they would apply in the Twp. of Washington.
* If the marriage is taking place in New Jersey but the bride lives out of the state and the groom lives in the Twp. of Washington, they would apply for their license in the Twp. of Washington.
