Upcoming Events at the Library:

Friday March 1st begins a two day "Read Across America" Dr.Seuss celebration, where the library will be featuring movies, story times, music programs, and family events.  We invite all to participate in a read-aloud of Dr. Seuss books throughout the day.  Come and read as little as five minutes or the entire story.  Stop by and help us celebrate the works of this wonderful author. 
 
Begining March 4th, to better serve our community, the library will be open to the public at 9:30am, Monday – Saturday.

Every Monday in March, starting at 10am come meet and greet our new Library Director Laura Rifkin. Please stop by and tell her about your library experiences and thoughts for how the library can help you in the future. 
 
Every Wednesday in March, at 1pm adult Stitch n' Bitch.  Do you quilt?  Knit? Crochet? Cross stitch? Bring your project to the library, make new friends and check out some of our great crafting materials. 
 
Every Thursday in March at 2pm the library will show a new feature film. Check with the library for titles and ratings. 
 
Every Thursday in March at 7pm the library will have a free adult Tech class.   These classes will be done as a group in our community room, and individuals can be seen as needed during library hours.  Class topics are as follows: March 7th- e-books & e-readers,  March 14th- navigating the new BCCLS website, March 21st- e-books & e-readers, March 28th- creating a BCCLS online account.

A Parents Guide to Facebook

ConnectSafely.org and the iKeepSafe Coalition are pleased to announce the publication of A Parents' Guide to Facebook. This 35-page booklet and online resource  (available for reading and printing here) provides parents with the perspective and how-to information they need to help their teens optimize their privacy and safety on Facebook. This guide features hands-on, step-by-step instructions and illustrations, as well as parenting points on safety, privacy, and reputation protection. It covers both cellphone and computer-based use of Facebook and the site's newest features, including Places, Groups, and the latest privacy updates.
