ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE - LINWOOD AVE. 2/26 thru 2/28
Linwood Ave. will be closed to traffic on Monday, February 26 through Wednesday, February 28 from 7:00 AM through 5:00 PM each day due to water main work. Linwood Ave. will be closed from Highland Ave. through Lyncrest Dr.  Please plan an alternate Route.  If you have any questions contact the Township of Washington Police Department at 201-664-1140.

2017 - 2018 CDC FLU SEASON INFORMATION
PSE&G INSPECTING GAS METERS in the Township and Westwood to ensure the continued safety and reliability of your gas service. If your meter is located inside, a PSEG employee will request access to the meter for a free 10-minute inspection. Remember to always ask for ID when a worker comes to your door, and  if you have concerns, call PSEG at 800-436-PSEG.
NO-KNOCK REGISTRY
Residents may register online to be placed on a No-Knock List, pursuant to Ordinance 17-19. By submitting this form, you are indicating you wish to have your address added to the Twp. of Washington's No Knock List of addresses that door-to-door vendors may not visit. Please note, cable providers Optimum and Verizon are exempt, If you are/or were a customer within the past two years, they are considered to be performing customer service. 

WTPD - COYOTE PRECAUTIONS
2018 PET LICENSING - LATE FEES WILL BE ENFORCED beginning Wednesday February 7th.  Applications were mailed in December for renewal by Jan. 31. Please note rabies must be current through Nov. 1 in order to register your dog.   If you no longer own your pet or have acquired a new one, kindly advise the Clerk's office. ROAD CLOSURES & DETOURS 
Ongoing through late January or early February, Suez Water and J. Fletcher Creamer will be installing a new water main on Andrea Ln., Edgewood Dr. and Parkway Ct. from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm  Monday through Friday.  Residents will be allowed access to their homes.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PROJECT
Habitat Bergen is building four (4), two-bedroom affordable units on Jefferson Avenue, two (2) are earmarked for veterans and the other two (2) are for seniors 55 and over.  Rendering pictured to the right. Go to habitatbergen.org for information regarding  applying & volunteer opportunities.

WTVAC INSTALLS 2018 OFFICERS & NEW MEMBERS
 The Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance Corps recently installed its 2018 Officers and welcomed four new members during its annual Installation and Awards Dinner held at Seasons on January 5, 2018. Click here for the full press release.

WTFD ICE DRILL

On 1/16/18 Twp. of Washington Fire Department conducted an ice drill on Schlegel Lake.  The Fire Department cut a hole in the ice and lowered a volunteer Fireman.  Several ongoing mock rescues were conducted.  Rescues were conducted by foot and by sled.  Local Boy and Cub Scouts were on hand to observe and learn from the drill.  Click image for photo gallery of event.

GOLDEN SENIORS Always Looking for New Members Any resident of Washington Township interested in joining The Golden Seniors can come as a guest to a meeting to meet the folks. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays at the Senior Center in Town Hall. If you wish to join, there is an initiation fee of $20 and the annual dues are $10. ADULT HEALTH  & WELLNESS PROGRAM
The Twp of Washington Health Dept. in conjuction with the Health Awareness Regional Porgram of Hackensack UMC invite you to participate in this FREE program led by a registered nurse.  The program takes place at the library on the first Tuesday of the month and at the Jack Woods Senior Center (lower level) on the second Wednesday of the month. RITE AID "Wellness Wednesdays" FOR SENIORS

Seniors 65 and older get 20% off almost everything the first Wednesday of every month at Rite Aid! They call it Wellness Wednesday! There is a different theme each month and they give out health related informational papers, coupons and free samples to seniors on Wellness Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm. The Rite Aid pharmacist is always ready to answer any questions, do an immunization evaluation or go over a patients medication especially on Wellness Wednesdays!

BC TEMPORARY SATELLITE OFFICE COMING TO THE TWP!

The Bergen County Clerk will bring its community outreach Temporary Satellite Office to the Township of Washington to process passport applications October 23, 24,& 25 in council chambers. Community Outreach staffers will be on hand to assist residents with applying for United States Passports, including having a picture taken. Services will also include applications for Vote By Mail Ballots, Notaries and Peddler’s Licenses, including photo cards (Veterans Photo Cards, Exempt Fire Fighters Cards and Senior Golden Key Cards)

SWIFT REACH REGISTRATION
The Township has implemented Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our Emergency Notification service provider. Swift911™ is a system that makes phone calls, sends text messages and emails to registerd users in the event of an emergency or important notification. Washington Twp. Volunteer Ambulance Corp is Seeking Volunteers to drive its ambulances on weekdays. Volunteer drivers are only required to take two days' worth of driving courses and a few hours of CPR classes. Anyone who is available between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at least one day per week could help. Please consider this great opportunity to help your community and its residents who truly do appreciate it. Anyone interested in joining the Washington Township Ambulance Corps should call (201) 664-3784.

The Pink Hats Are Back! The Washington Township Police Department has participated in The Pink Hat Campaign for several years, helping to raise donation for Breast Cancer research.  We sell Pink Hats for a minimum donation of $25.00 per hat, which 100% of the proceeds are donated towards Breast Cancer research. Contact P.O.
