2017 ROAD RESURFACING PROGRAM UPDATE: ADA compliant curb cuts at Amherst  Rd. and Pascack Rd. are being installed 10/18. Amherst Road, Tulane Court and Madeline Court will be milled on 10/19 and paved on 10/20. 

FIREHOUSE/COMMUTER PARKING UPDATE Please note the Township Council has decided to rescind the new Firehouse Parking Ordinance, and to adopt the approach of unlimited permits, with parking each day being on a first come - first served basis among permit holders.  A draft ordinance will be discussed on October 16th to be introduced October 30th.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PROJECT

Election Poll Workers Needed in Our Town! The Bergen County Board of Elections is currently recruiting poll workers. This important civic responsibility is open to all registered voters in Bergen County. It is vital to the democratic process to recruit and train reliable poll workers.

ANNUAL WTFD RAGAMUFFIN PARADE 10/28

The WTFD along with the Twp. of Washington are having a Ragamuffin Parade / Party followed by a Haunted House experience at the Twp. Library on 10/28/17.  Line up on Finnerty Place just outside the library.  There will be costume judging, candy and prizes . Ages 0 - 10 welcome.  If rain occurs event will be held inside the library.

The Pink Hats Are Back! The Washington Township Police Department has participated in The Pink Hat Campaign for several years, helping to raise donation for Breast Cancer research.  We sell Pink Hats for a minimum donation of $25.00 per hat, which 100% of the proceeds are donated towards Breast Cancer research. Contact P.O. Community Clothing Drive - 10/21

The class of 2018 will once again be holding a Community Clothing Drive on Saturday, October 21st at Westwood High School in the front parking lot.  Please drop off  your bagged clothes, linens, accessories and housewares between the hours of 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Free Rabies Clinic - 11/4/17

The Township of Washington Board of Health will be holding its annual FREE Rabies Vaccination Program on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. The program will take place at the Department of Public Works, 350 Hudson Avenue. Dogs are welcome from 9:00 to 10:00 am on leashes (not retractable leashes) and Cats from 10:00 to 10:30 am in carriers. Pets of residents from other municipalities are welcome to attend.

Golden Seniors Always Looking for New Members

Any resident of Washington Township interested in joining The Golden Seniors can come as a guest to a meeting to meet the folks. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays at the Senior Center in Town Hall. If you wish to join, there is an initiation fee of $20 and the annual dues are $10. Clark Field Tree Planting Photo Gallery

Eleven Japanese Cherry Blossoms Trees, 2 Flowering Plum Trees and 8 Boxwood Bushes were donated by Township Residents and planted at Clark Field on Saturday May 20,2017. We want to thank the Twp. residents for their donation, Stone Mill Gardens, the WT Fire Dept, and Girl Scout Troop #'s  6026, 6679 & 6957, for helping to plant these beautiful trees and bushes. Adult Health & Wellness Program

The Twp of Washington Health Dept. in conjuction with the Health Awareness Regional Porgram of Hackensack UMC invite you to participate in this FREE program led by a registered nurse.  The program takes place at the library on the first Tuesday of the month and at the Jack Woods Senior Center (lower level) on the second Wednesday of the month. The Twp.of Washington is organizing a new Green Team to work towards making our town a more sustainable and environmentally aware community. The Green Team will follow the guidelines of Sustainable Jersey and offer our town venues for obtaining energy grants, improving recycling efforts, reducing our carbon footprint and hosting events.  Any interested resident is welcome to find out more about our mission or join our team by emailing Bernadette Pomykala or calling 201-664-4404. Rite Aid "Wellness Wednesdays" for Seniors

Seniors 65 and older get 20% off almost everything the first Wednesday of every month at Rite Aid! They call it Wellness Wednesday! There is a different theme each month and they give out health related informational papers, coupons and free samples to seniors on Wellness Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm. The Rite Aid pharmacist is always ready to answer any questions, do an immunization evaluation or go over a patients medication especially on Wellness Wednesdays!

The Township has implemented Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our Emergency Notification service provider. Swift911™ is a system that makes phone calls, sends text messages and emails to registerd users in the event of an emergency or important notification. Township Officer Struck by Vehicle  

In the early morning hours of July 20th, 2013 Officer Heather Castronova was struck by a dark colored SUV on Fern St. while issuing a parking summons.  The vehicle left the scene of the accident, continuing North making a right onto Washington Ave. heading  towards Westwood. This vehicle may have damage to the right front area. The PBA is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person involved. Anyone with knowledge of this incident is requested to call 201-664-1140, ext. 169.

Washington Twp. Volunteer Ambulance Corp is Seeking Volunteers to drive its ambulances on weekdays. Volunteer drivers are only required to take two days' worth of driving courses and a few hours of CPR classes. Anyone who is available between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at least one day per week could help. Please consider this great opportunity to help your community and its residents who truly do appreciate it. Anyone interested in joining the Washington Township Ambulance Corps should call (201) 664-3784.
