EMTs participate in all-expense paid trips from FEMA to various locations in the U.S. for further training. First-responders, when not attending to emergencies or otherwise assisting members of the public are often behind the scenes conducting continuous training. After all, one should never stop learning, and it is through repetitious practice and continuous training that those who protect our communities both maintain and build upon their skills.

On Sunday, March 18, 2018, members of the Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance once again stood by at the Rockland County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, as the Corps has done for the past several years.
On February 17, 2018 members and officers of the Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance were in attendance and representing the Corps at the Westwood UNICO “Service Above Self” event. This was an event hosted for the benefit of local emergency medical services and featured a beefsteak dinner, armchair races, and a tricky tray.

The Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance Corps recently installed its 2018 Officers and welcomed four new members during its annual Installation and Awards Dinner held at Seasons on January 5, 2018. Click article title for full story.
Over the summer, the WTVAC Recruiting Team made an all-day appearance at the Washington Town Center in hopes of attracting new members to the Corps. At the direction of Lieutenant Justin G. Tsai, EMT, Coordinator, the team brought the ambulance and set up a recruiting table and tent in the parking lot, visible and accessible to the public. Click article title for more info
This past fall, members of the Township of Washington Ambulance Corps stood by at the Mark Samitt Memorial 5K, setting up a first aid and recruiting table. The Mark Samitt Run was hosted in town by Temple Beth Or in honor of one of their late congregants, with the purpose of raising awareness for skin-cancer.

The V.F.W. Post 6192 of the Twp. of Washington recently donated $10,000 to the ambulance corp for purchase of a new Stryker stretcher. Please click on the image to the left to view photos of the event.
