SCHOOLS
The Twp. of Washington has a consolidated school system with our neighboring town, Westwood known as the Westwood Regional School District. There are two elementary schools in each town (4 total), a brand new true middle school in Westwood and the High School is located in the Township of Washington. There is also an all-girls college preparatory private Roman Catholic high school, Immaculate Heart Academy located at 500 Van Emburgh Avenue in the Township - this is one of the five outstanding Parochial High Schools in Bergen County. Please visit their website for further information.
SPECIAL SERVICES
The Pascack Valley Council for Special Education, known as "Region II", is comprised of seven school districts in the Pascack Valley area of Northern Bergen County. The current participating districts are: Emerson, Hillsdale, Montvale, Park Ridge, Pascack Valley Regional High School District, River Vale, and Westwood Regional.
The purpose and mission of Region II is to develop and maintain cost effective, quality programs and services for the students and staff of the member school districts. Originally the focus was on special education programs and services. Supports in general education have become new initiatives.
