C.E.R.T. Volunteers Needed!

The Township of Washington has a CERT compromised of all volunteers under the direction of Sgt. Fasciano.  CERT is a program that trains you to help and assist your family and neighbors during an emergency situation.  In an emergency situation there is a possibility that emergency services may not get to you right away so having the CERT training can give you the skills to help emergency responders save lives and protect property.

During an emergency CERT will help provide the following support by giving immediate assistance with damage assessment, shelter support, crowd control, evacuation and medical triage.  All responses will be under the direction of our first responders.

If you are interested in becoming a CERT member, it only takes 20 hours’ of training which will give you a lifetime of critical skills that are priceless.  We are currently looking for additional CERT members to join our team!

If you are interested in joining and have questions please contact Sgt. Fasciano at 201-664-1140 Extension 319 or by e-mail at oem@twpofwashington.us.  Please click HERE to obtain a copy of the application and deliver it to the Township of Washington Police Headquarters.

On December 23rd 2019, SFC Michael Goble, New Jersey Native, was tragically killed in action during a deployment in Afghanistan. Mike’s love for America was unwavering. His patriotism reached no limit. Mike was the definition of excellence and received countless medals and awards during his military career. America lost a true hero, but even worse, Mike’s six year old daughter lost her Daddy, and his girlfriend of 12 years, lost her partner in life.

When New Jersey Boxing Champion, Julian Rodriguez and his family learned of SFC Michael Goble’s death, they vowed to make sure respect would be paid to Mike. On March 17th, Julian is dedicating his boxing match at Madison Square Garden, in memory of Mike. Not only is he doing this, he and his inner circle have organized an amazing event to support Mike’s daughter.

On March 15th, at 2:00, Westwood High-school is opening their doors to help us host an amazing charity event! Julian aka “Hammer Hands”, will be boxing live on site, along with his trainer Alex Devia! This is an event not to be missed!

Donations will be $25 per person at the door, and $5 per raffle ticket. We will be auctioning off gift certificates, movie tickets, spa days, and much more! All of the proceeds will benefit Jen, and her daughter.

Mike made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our freedoms. We will forever be indebted to Mike, and will make sure his legacy lives on forever through our actions and words. Please help us rise together as a community to support Mike’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
