For NYC commuters who live in Bergen County, getting to work often means taking NJ Transit. The largest statewide public transit system in the county, NJ Transit provides service all over New Jersey along with parts of the borough of New York, Orange and Rockland counties, and even Philadelphia County in Pennsylvania.
NJ Transit has three rail lines that provide service to Bergen County communities. The Pascack Valley line runs from the Hoboken Terminal to Spring Valley, NY, and includes such northern Bergen County towns as Westwood and Montvale. The Main Line runs from Hoboken to Suffern. The Bergen County Line extends off the Main Line between Meadowlands and Glen Rock, rejoining it at Ridgewood. From the Hoboken Terminal, commuters can take the PATH train to Manhattan.
